For me being an artist means freedom of expression. It gives me a sense of creativity and allows me to be transported into places otherwise unknown. My sense of observation to details is very developed, to the point that it often surprises even me. When I was younger everything had to be perfect and in its place, now that I am more mature even the chaos of my studio inspires me.

Western Forest – Acrylic on Canvas – 20 X 16 – 311005

As you are approaching the woods in very early winter you can see the remaining leaves still hanging by very slender threads. They shimmer like jewels shown off by the powered icing of frost on the ground.

Lonely Spirit #2 – Acrylic on Canvas – 12 X 12 – 200407

When I first came to B.C. I was truly impressed with the Arbutus, a beautiful species of Madrona tree. The appearance of the twisted trunk and the placement of its roots amid a jumble of rocks make it a unique specimen.

Sky’s the Limit – Mixed Media Collage on Canvas – 18 X 36 – 280408

Discovering Emily Carr’s love of the western forest and trees while reading her collection of books made a great impact on me so this is my attempt to do an interpretation of that beautiful force of nature.

Ole – Acrylic on Canvas – 24 X 24 – 240408

The tranquility of the setting and the energy of the colors of the boats make this painting a unique focal point to be cherished for a lifetime.

Okanogan Peach Blossoms – Acrylic on Canvas – 14 X 18 – 200407 - sold

My favorite color! It was easy for me to come up with this composition. The fertile land and the beautiful sunshine of that region turn the blossoming tree into the shape of a very large delectable peach.

Six in a Row – Acrylic on canvas – 12 X 12 – 190407 - sold

This is purely fantasy! The shapes all planted in the right places are a proof of my desire to be so perfect and orderly.

The French Girl – Acrylic on Canvas – 16 X 16 - 320407

This one came to me after my trip to France and seeing the somewhat different attitudes of the women there.

The Morning After – Acrylic on Canvas – 16 X 20 – 250307

One particular party proved to be just a little too much as upon awakening reality sets in and life must go on.

The Rivals – Acrylic on Canvas – 24 X 30 – 060406

The retro look is a big component of this painting. Little does he know of the intense interplay of emotions taking place between the two rivals for his affection.

Novice Diva – Acrylic on Canvas – 36 X 36 – 140806 - sold

She tops them all, her blasé attitude and her sense of “moi . . moi” certainly comes out in her demeanor.

Friendship – Acrylic on Canvas – 20 X 24 – 211206

The bonds of friendship and belonging are so great that color, race and creed will not stand as a hindrance to its existence.
